Making SPACE Ministry Covenant
By affirming these statements we build community together. These statements represent our values and expectations of one another.
1) I agree that our meetings are a priority in my life. I will be committed to our scheduled meetings dates and times. I will notify the group if I am unable to meet. I will strive to meet on time and if running late will notify the host home of my situation.
2) I agree to strict confidentiality. I will trust the others to keep what I share within our group.
3) I agree to be held accountable and to hold the other members accountable.
4) I agree to be open and honest with the others in our group.
5) I agree to foster an environment within which each of us will grow spiritually and relationally.
6) I agree to interact with the others in our group with love and grace. I agree our group will be a safe place for each of us. I will affirm, encourage, and build up the other members of our group. I am committed to be sensitive to the needs, feelings, backgrounds, and current situations of the other members of our group.
7) I agree that our relationship with one another extends beyond our group meetings. We are sisters and brothers in the Lord, therefore, I will make myself available to serve, support, and care for the other members of our group through the routines, joys, and sorrows of our lives. I will pray for the other members of our group between our meetings.
8) I agree that we will develop a common purpose for our group outside ourselves.
9) I agree to an "open chair" attitude. I expect our group to grow numerically. I will seek the counsel of our entire group before inviting anyone to join us. I will warmly welcome and effectively enfold all new members to our group.
10) I agree that some reasonable time after our group has reached it’s span of care size, we will make space for more members by willingly becoming two separate groups. Our apprentice leader will take responsibility for the leadership of part of our group and our leader will chose a new apprentice leader.
