Core Values Statement
1. We believe that Salvation and Eternal Life are received by grace alone through belief and personal acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior through His sacrificial death and bodily resurrection. (Romans 4:25; Hebrews 10:9-14; Acts 4:12)
2. We believe that Biblical Authority over all of life is essential for the believer and the church to fully experience God’s grace. (Matthew 4:4)
3. We believe the ecumenical creeds of the Christian church (Apostles Creed, Nicene Creed, Athanasian Creed) and the historical Reformed doctrinal standards (the Heidelberg Catechism, the Belgic Confession, and the Canons of Dort) are valuable for summarizing and explaining our faith.
4. We believe that God’s saving mission compels us to reach out to the lost of our neighborhood, community and around the world. (Luke 15:3-7)
5. We believe it is important to make a public declaration of devotion to Christ and become a responsible member of a local Christian church. (Romans 10:9; Matthew 10:32,33; Philippians 1:4,5)
6. We believe that God is honored and we are blessed through consistent God centered preaching, teaching and worship. (Revelation 4&5; I Timothy 4:13)
7. We believe that individual and corporate prayer are essential for spiritual intimacy and life changing ministry. (Acts 1:12-14)
8. We believe in the intentional development of ministries for children and young people to assist parents in leading their children to a personal faith in Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13; Matthew 18:1-5)
9. We believe that stewardship of time, talents and resources reflects God’s Lordship over all creation and is inseparable from spiritual growth. (Acts 4:32-36; Luke 21:1-4; II Corinthians 8:7,8)
10. We believe that discipleship and small groups are helpful for building up the body of Christ through fellowship, accountability and nurture. (Matthew 28:16-20)
11. We believe that diversity in the body of believers with respect to spiritual gifts and ethnicity is necessary for the church to reflect the uniqueness with which God created us. (I Corinthians 12:12-31; Ephesians 2:14-22)
12. We believe that Christian relationships are characterized by love, caring, accountability and forgiveness, and that by following the Matthew 18 principle in resolving any conflict or disagreement, we will be a powerful witness to the world. (Matthew 18:15-22; John 17; Act 2:42-47)
